NovaSource® Announces New Regional Account Manager Based in Twin Falls, Idaho to Handle Growing Product Line

Phoenix, Ariz. – April 12, 2016 – An additional sales territory has been created by NovaSource, the crop protection business unit of Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. (TKI), to serve Idaho and the Rocky Mountain Region. The territory will be managed by a new team member, Tad Comer.

As a regional manager on the NovaSource team, Comer will oversee an area that includes Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Colorado from an office based in Twin Falls.

“Recent acquisitions to the NovaSource product line and the importance of our products in the production of potatoes, alfalfa, apples and sugar beets in this five-state region make it necessary to add a professional with Tad’s experience to our team,” said Bob Gestring, director of sales for NovaSource North America.

Comer had most recently served as an area sales manager for Van Diest Supply Company where he managed a large and diverse distribution business across Colorado and Nebraska.
He is a veteran and former member of the U.S. Army 313th Military Intelligence Battalion, supporting the 82d Airborne Division.

“Although NovaSource products are used in 46 countries around the world, Idaho is a key territory for NovaSource in the U.S.,” said Kyle Coleman, marketing director for NovaSource North America.

TKI is one of the nation’s largest producers of the soil fumigant metam sodium, and its labeled product Sectagon® is widely used by potato, onion and sugar beet growers in Idaho.

The company operates a SECTAGON production plant in Burley, and a storage and distribution facility in Michaud, Idaho, employing more than 15 professional and support staff between the two locations. In addition to metam sodium, the Michaud facility also stores and ships products for the TKI Crop Vitality and mining and industrial business units to distributors throughout the U.S.

Late in 2015, TKI acquired certain of DuPont’s global hexazinone solo product and its hexazinone/Diuron-only mixture product assets that are marketed under the names Velpar®, Velpar AlfaMax™, Velpar AlfaMax™ Gold. These acquisitions, along with the company’s existing herbicide products, Sinbar® and Solicam®, resulted in the formation of a portfolio of products that are used widely by alfalfa growers in Idaho and other western states.

“NovaSource is committed to a solid market presence and sound environmental stewardship regarding the use of its products,” Coleman said. “We urge any group of distributors or growers to take advantage of the insights into best practices and recommendations available through our experienced and knowledgeable team.”

NovaSource develops and markets a variety of crop protection products for niche uses in agriculture worldwide. Founded in 2005, the company’s array of products was acquired from other manufacturers that divested the assets. “We keep well-established products alive,” Coleman said.
